If you're interested in coming along to Perth Gospel Hall you will (hopefully!) find all you need to know on this page. If you have any further questions, please feel free to get in touch!
Where?
Our official address is Huntingtower Road, Perth, PH1 2LH, but if you're using a Sat Nav you may find it easier to enter "Balgowan Road."
For those who have lived in Perth for a while, you may know the building as it was previously the Letham Farmhouse Hotel.
We have a car park with plenty spaces, including a couple of disabled spaces. If the car park is full there is also parking on the street.
For anyone travelling by bus, the nearest bus stops are on Rannoch Road and Newhouse Road.
When you arrive, there are two entrances to the building, one at the front where someone will meet you at the door to welcome you and another round the side which allows wheelchair access if required.
When?
The best service for new visitors to attend is our weekly Gospel (Good News) Meeting, which is at 12.30-1.15pm every Sunday. Light refreshments are served beforehand from about 12.10pm onwards.
We have a number of other services and activities at the Gospel Hall throughout the week, including a Sunday School (Sunday 2.30pm) and a Parent and Toddlers Group (Thursday 9.30am). Details of all our services can be found here.
What?
What to expect - when you arrive at our weekly Gospel Meeting (see above), someone will welcome you at the door, give you a hymn book, and point you in the direction of the refreshments, or show you to a seat in the main hall.
The Gospel Meeting lasts for 45 minutes. It normally begins with a few hymns and a prayer, followed by an interesting 25-30 minute message from the Bible.
What to wear - we have no specific dress code, so feel free to wear whatever you feel comfortable in. Some people come smart, others come casual, and some in-between! You'll be made very welcome regardless.
What to bring - if you have your own Bible feel free to bring it . However, copies are available at the Gospel Hall for you to use (and take away if you like). If you'd prefer to just listen, rather than look up the readings, that is absolutely fine.
We don't take up a collection at our Gospel Meeting, so there is no need to bring any money with you.
Who?
Our weekly Gospel Meeting is normally attended by between 60 to 90 people, many of whom are not members or regular church-attenders.
We have people from the local community, others from different parts of Perth, and some who travel in from towns and villages across Perthshire.
There is a broad mix of people who come along. Different backgrounds, nationalities, professions and ages, including children and teenagers, couples and families, right through to those who are a little more advanced in years! For those with young families, if your children get a little restless during the service, you are welcome to take them through to the rear hall, or to one of the rooms upstairs, where you will still be able to listen to the service.
The bottom line is... EVERYONE IS WELCOME! So please come along and join us any Sunday you're free.
