Annual Bible Teaching Conference - Saturday 19th September
This year our Annual Bible Teaching Conference will take place on Zoom for the first (and possibly last) time! You are warmly invited to join with us and we are also happy for you to share the details with others who would appreciate good bible teaching. The speakers this year are:
The session are: Saturday 19th of September
Sunday 20th of September
Monday 21st of September
Tuesday 22nd of September
Wednesday 23rd of September
To connect to zoom please follow the link below: https://us04web.zoom.us/j/8639515710 We normally run a community football outreach from April to September every year, but this year we've only managed 4 weeks complying with all the various restrictions in place.
Tonight was possibly the final night for the time being, but it's been good to see the lads again and to have the opportunity to share the Gospel with them. This morning the doors were opened for our first small meeting back in the Gospel Hall after almost 6 months. We had a short, socially distanced, masked up, time of prayer.
It'll likely be a wee while yet before we can invite in a wider, larger group of people and recommence our other services, but we'll keep you all posted! "Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer." Romans 12:12 Another village where we've been distributing copies of The Signpost magazine is Abernethy.
Abernethy was home to Mr Isaac Ewan who became a Christian while serving as a soldier in WW1. He was associated with a small church in the village and travelled widely throughout the British Isles preaching and teaching prior to his death in 1968. He wrote many poems and hymns which have been published in several books. Below are a couple of them which are particularly thought-provoking.
We started to distribute our magazine, The Signpost, in Bridge of Earn this week. For several years now we've held a well-attended Christmas Carol Service in the village - I wonder if it'll be possible this year?
It was nice to bump into a few familiar faces on our rounds, and also to see this wooden cross. The cross is at the centre of the good news that we love to share... "He (Jesus) Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness." 1 Peter 2:24 We've been really missing our monthly visits to several care homes across the city and beyond during the COVID crisis, but have continued to pray for the staff and residents throughout.
It was lovely to receive some nice feedback from our friends at Glenhelenbank Care Home in Luncarty today after they watched a short service we recorded onto DVD for them. |
